CONGRAGULATIONS

We are excited that you have decided to make Jesus the Lord of your life.
Accepting Jesus as your Savior is only the beginning of the abundant life that God wants you to have.

As you grow in faith, you will have questions. Questions are a part of the process of our spiritual journey.

That is why we believe that being a
part of a local church is essential.

Through the local church, we can surround ourselves with believers who are further along in the journey. Our church community will encourage you and will continue pointing you to Jesus.

SO WHAT NOW?

Read through the following steps to give you an idea of some of the things we all need to do as we grow in Christ. We take our walk one step at a time.

STEP 1 — YOUR DECISION

God loves you!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

Your sin causes a gap between you and God that is impossible for you to bridge.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. – Isaiah 59:2

God sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8

It's your choice to receive the gift or not.

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. – Romans 10:9

STEP 2 — BAPTISM

In the simplest of terms, baptism is an act of obedience. It is an outward display, a public confession, a step of acknowledgment that is representative of the fact that Jesus died on the cross. He was buried and walked out of the grave, alive, so each of us can have eternal life.

Baptism is the washing away of your sins and the raising to new life. Through this act of obedience, you are letting the world know that you have been made new in Jesus Christ and that you are committing to following Him. If you have decided to follow Jesus, baptism is the next essential step in your spiritual journey.

Jesus commanded baptism (Matthew 28:19; John 3:5; Mark 16:15-16) and He himself was baptized (Matthew 3:13-17) for this reason we believe baptism is necessary.

You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard. And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name. – Acts 22:15-16

STEP 3 — GROWTH

When you chose to follow Jesus, you began a new journey. This journey is not meant for you to travel alone. Being a Christian is not a solo sport. This is why the local church exists.

Each week we gather together as a church, we unite to worship God, discover His plan for us, and learn to live out His word in our lives.

As we walk in our faith, we inspire one another. We encourage one another. We love one another. We seek, serve, share and sow. All this is part of our growth in Christ, and these things empower us to be a force for change in our city and the world!

Get plugged in today. Commit to becoming a member of City Church. Commit to worshipping with us every Sunday and join a small group today. Let’s see how God changes our lives and the lives of those around us.

To find a Small Group near you, please speak to someone at the Welcome table or go here.

Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near. – Hebrews 10:25

STEP 4 — SEEKING

Like any relationship, your relationship with Jesus needs trust and communication to grow. This begins by daily seeking God through:

  • LISTENING to what God wants to say through Scripture. Start a Bible reading plan today using the Bible app on iPhone or Android.

  • TALKING to God about what’s on your mind. Prayer is simply having a conversation with God.

  • BELIEVING what God says about you in Scripture about His plans for you. He wants to use you to make a difference, but you must first understand who you are, and what you have to offer.

  • CONNECTING with others who will inspire and encourage you as you travel together. Contact us for information about our weekly Small Groups that meet near and around the city of Frisco.

STEP 5 — SERVING

Jesus himself said that He did not come to be served, but to serve others. When you volunteer your time and talent in the local church, you discover the key to unlocking a life of influence and change.

As a new Christ-follower, one of the most powerful steps you can take is serving in the church. It is stepping outside of your comfort zone and stepping up to be used by God.

STEP 6 — SHARING

City Church was born from a desire to reach people who are in need of the life-changing message of Jesus. Now that you have experienced that change in your life, God wants to use you to reach others!

God has already placed people in your life – family, friends, co-workers, casual acquaintances – who are just one invitation to church away from experiencing all that God has for them.

Begin to pray for opportunities to share your story with others, and you’ll be amazed at how God will use you to change lives, one person at a time.

STEP 7 — SOWING

Here at City Church, we believe in giving to the church through our tithes and offerings. Our tithes are the first 10% of any financial increase God gives us. Offerings are anything above 10%.

Your giving provides a place of worship, a chair to sit in, curriculum for our students, and salaries for our staff. It also funds our current and future international missions and local outreach programs.

We believe that by giving God the first 10%, he blesses the other 90. If you give, He will bless you and your home. If you do not feel God has blessed your life in the first 90 days of giving to City Church, we will return your tithes, no questions asked. We call this the Tithing Challenge.
